Charging infrastructure — the key questions
Is my house connection enough for a wallbox?
Usually yes — 11 kW wallboxes are easy even in older buildings, often 22 kW too. We check your meter capacity and file an upgrade application with the utility if needed. Alternatively: dynamic load management that automatically throttles the wallbox when other loads are running.
How much faster is a DC charging station?
AC wallbox (22 kW): about 60 – 100 km of range per hour. DC fast charger from 150 kW: several hundred km per hour. Our largest systems charge at up to 720 kW — relevant for heavy-duty trucks and MCS-capable commercial vehicles.
What does a wallbox installation cost?
Single-family home with existing cabling: CHF 2,500 – 4,500. With an additional feed or load-management system: CHF 4,500 – 8,000. For larger installations (commercial, industrial) we create individual quotes based on the on-site conditions.
What is a truck charger with battery booster?
Trucks and construction machines need up to 720 kW of charging power. A normal industrial connection rarely suffices. We combine the charging station with a battery booster (up to 1 MWh) that relieves the grid: slow daytime charging of the battery, fast delivery to the charger when the truck stops. This saves grid reinforcement and annual demand charges.
Does Bergler also sell electric trucks?
Yes — we source electric trucks directly from China and integrate them into our charging-infrastructure projects. Our role: vehicle, depot charging infrastructure and grid-connection concept from a single source. Ideal for fleet operators who don't want to coordinate multiple suppliers in parallel.
Can I integrate existing wallboxes into my system?
In most cases yes. We check OCPP compatibility (the open standard for charging stations) and connect third-party devices to our load management. For larger upgrades, though, we recommend a single manufacturer for smoother maintenance.
